Academy Award Winner, The Lost Thing (starring Tim Minchin)

The Lost Thing, from the book of the same name by Shaun Tan, won the Oscar® for Best Animated Short Film in 2011. The film was directed by Shaun Tan and Andrew Ruhemann and produced by Sophie Byrne and Passion Pictures Australia. Music by Michael Yezerski.

The soundtrack from the Oscar® winning short film, The Lost Thing, is available to buy on iTunes and Bandcamp.

The music won Best Short Film Score at the 2010 APRA / AGSC Screen Music Awards and the album was nominated for Best Soundtrack Album Release in 2011.

Michael created a special extended version of the The Lost Thing score to accompany the film live. The new show made its debut on the opening night of the 2011 Dungog Film Festival. This was followed by gala performances at TEDx Sydney and the Graphic Festival (in the Sydney Opera House, supporting GOTYE - yes, that Gotye!).

Michael was joined onstage by Damian De Boos-Smith, Veronique Serret, Shenzo Gregorio and Bree Van Reyk.
